Private message interaction

An automated chat message from you (the presenter) to the attendee, delivered privately inside the chat panel.

The Private message interaction is a chat-based interaction (as opposed to a card over the video). At the moment you pick on the timeline, eWebinar delivers a private, 1-to-1 chat message from the presenter's account to each attendee. Attendees can reply in the chat panel exactly as they would to any other chat message.

What you can configure

  • Message text. Template variables like {firstName} are supported, so the message can feel personal.
  • Timing — the message is sent at the timeline position where you placed the interaction.
  • Conditional display — only send the message to certain attendees. See Conditional display logic.

What the attendee sees

A chat bubble appears in the chat panel with the message text. There's no overlay or card on top of the video, so the message doesn't interrupt playback. The message stays in the chat history for the session.

How to add it

  1. Open the webinar editor and scrub to the point in the video where you want the interaction to appear.
  2. Click the + button above the timeline and pick the interaction type from the dropdown (or use See all interactions to browse the full template library).
  3. Configure its settings in the editor that opens, then save.
