Button overlay interaction

A clickable button that sits on top of the video for a defined duration. Doesn't pause the video.

The Button overlay puts a clickable button directly on top of the video for a defined window of time. The video keeps playing; attendees can ignore or click the button. When clicked, the button can open a URL in a new tab or trigger an in-session action.

When to use it

Use button overlays for quiet CTAs — a "Book a call" link on top of a relevant slide, a "Download the worksheet" prompt, or a context-specific product link. Because overlays don't pause the video, they're a good complement to Call to action and Special offer cards for moments where interrupting would be disruptive.

What you can configure

  • Button label and destination URL (opens in a new tab by default).
  • Position and size of the overlay on the video.
  • Start time (set by your scrub position when you add it) and an Ends at to control how long it stays on screen.
  • Conditional display — only show the overlay to certain attendees. See Conditional display logic.

How to add it

  1. Open the webinar editor and scrub to the point in the video where you want the interaction to appear.
  2. Click the + button above the timeline and pick the interaction type from the dropdown (or use See all interactions to browse the full template library).
  3. Configure its settings in the editor that opens, then save.
