What is eChat?

eChat is an AI agent that you train on your own content, so it can answer questions for you automatically, in your voice, using facts drawn from your own material instead of generic answers pulled from the open internet.

Today, eChat works inside eWebinar: it joins the live chat of your webinar as an AI moderator, sitting alongside any human moderators you already have. While your webinar plays, attendees can ask questions in the chat, and your agent answers them in real time, drawing on the webinar's own video along with anything else you've trained it on.

You don't have to choose between an agent and a human moderator. eChat handles the repetitive, easy-to-answer questions so your team can spend their attention on the ones that actually need a person.

Trained on your own material

An agent is only as good as what it knows. eChat can learn from several kinds of source material at once: your website, uploaded documents, a Q&A list you write or import, and - for any agent linked to a webinar - that webinar's own video transcript. It can also read your past support and sales conversations to suggest new Q&A pairs, but conversations themselves aren't training data - only the Q&A you approve becomes training. Together these live under Training, and you can mix and match sources depending on what you already have on hand.

One agent can be linked to more than one webinar - eWebinar automatically tells the agent which webinar a given visitor is on, so it always answers using that session's own video and context. The one rule worth keeping in mind: an agent should stay focused on a single product or topic. If you sell more than one product, give each its own agent, so its knowledge and instructions don't get muddled together.

A human is always in the loop

eChat is built to work with your team, not in front of it. In eWebinar the agent is a peer of your human moderators: it knows who on your team is around, gives a human the first word when someone is available (you choose how long it waits, in eWebinar), and steps back when one of your moderators replies. When something needs a person - a question it can't answer confidently, an account-specific issue, a frustrated attendee - it doesn't guess. It flags that message as Needs reply for your team and can leave them a private note, then keeps helping the attendee in the meantime.

You decide how far it goes: work on its own, flag and leave notes for your team, or also hand a conversation to a live person when your eWebinar settings allow it. Even then, unless the attendee asks for a person outright, eChat checks with them first. See Working with Human Moderators.

Set up in minutes

Creating an agent is a short guided wizard, not a technical project. You pick the webinar it's for, choose a role - Sales, Customer Success, or Support - which seeds sensible starting instructions, point it at a starting webpage to learn from, add any other training material you have, then give it a name and an avatar. That's it: click Complete setup, and eChat opens straight into the Playground (or takes you back to eWebinar if you started there), where you can chat with your new agent right away, even while the rest of its training keeps working in the background.

eWebinar is the only place an agent goes live today. The agent editor already shows Widget and API tabs under Deploy, but for eWebinar-linked agents they're managed by eWebinar and stay disabled.
