eWebinar gives you the best of a live webinar, without the work of running one.
Zvi Band,
Founder, Relatable
Relationships are our most important asset, now more than ever. If we don’t proactively keep in touch with the people who matter, we get lost in a sea of AI-driven outreach and algorithmic content.
Relatable was built to use AI to strengthen your relationships, not replace them. It collects all of your contacts from the various places where they live (inside your email, your calendar, your phone, your texts, WhatsApp, LinkedIn – you name it) and builds rich profiles on every person you know. From there, it allows you to organize your relationships into spheres. Once you tell Relatable how often you want to stay in touch with each sphere, the system runs on autopilot, letting you know who you should follow up with each day.
Relatable founder Zvi Band spoke to us about how the company uses eWebinar for onboarding and to educate potential customers long before they sign up for the product.
Hi, Zvi! Can you start by telling me a little bit about yourself and your company?
Absolutely. My name is Zvi Band and I’m the founder of Relatable, a relationship-oriented operating system designed to help people maintain the relationships that are critical for their business, their career, and their life overall.
What problems did Relatable struggle with before adopting eWebinar?
One of the biggest challenges that our product has is that it’s something that you really have to see and understand at a deeper level. Screenshots and quick videos don’t necessarily do it justice, so we knew we wanted some kind of onboarding webinar for the product.
"As a soloprenuer, I didn’t have the time or capacity to be running live webinars two or three times a day."
However, as a solopreneur, I didn’t have the time or capacity to be running webinars two or three times a day.
How does Relatable use eWebinar today?
We use it primarily as our key onboarding tool. When people first come on board the product, we send them a link to attend our next webinar (which is usually in a couple of hours, thanks to eWebinar)! Then they understand the ins and outs of the product, and understand their next best steps. They’re able to ask any questions through the chat, which our team can answer asynchronously.
“We use eWebinar as our key onboarding tool, to help customers understand the ins and outs of our product.”
Now that we have these webinars, we can share them with people who haven't yet created Relatable accounts, reaching people higher up in our funnel.
What did you do before eWebinar?
I was relying a lot on basic email campaigns (which no one opens and no one reads).
“Before eWebinar, I was relying on basic email campaigns - which no one opens and no one reads.”
Occasionally and haphazardly, depending on my time and availability, I would also attempt to do one-on-one onboarding or hold office hours. However, because of time zone differences, many people could not attend.
What are the business benefits you’ve seen since adopting eWebinar?
I’ve seen two really good business benefits right from the get-go. One is that we see people come in already having a deeper understanding of our product, so they're able to activate much quicker.
“eWebinar allows us to engage with our customers at a deeper level, which ultimately allows us to build a better product.”
Another is that they're able to ask a lot of questions through the webinar, which they wouldn’t do if it were just a normal video they were watching. This has allowed us to engage with them at a deeper level, and to understand some of the issues people are having by looking at the questions that keep coming up. That results in us ultimately building a better product.
How have your team and company benefited from using eWebinar?
It has significantly reduced our burden for customer success and onboarding because now I would say at least 75% of people’s questions are answered before they even consider engaging with any person or team.
“eWebinar has significantly reduced our burden for customer success and onboarding.”
Because of that, when they do engage with us, it’s usually a very specific question about their own individual setup, or they’re talking about strategy. They’re not asking us how to use the product because they already have that information.
How do your customers feel about eWebinar’s hybrid format?
I don’t think we’ve had a single person say, “Oh, this is a recorded webinar that happened a while ago.”
“Our customers engage with the chat as though they were watching a live webinar, and our staff gets immediate notifications when they do.”
Even if our product videos get out of date inside an eWebinar, people still engage in the chat as if it were a live webinar, and myself and my team can be sitting in Slack and get Slack notifications of questions thzat people have, and answer them right there. Or we can always get back to them afterwards via email.
What do you love most about eWebinar?
I love that it’s not just an on-demand webinar that you can attend anytime. I love that people have to choose which session they're attending, and that the process is what it would be like with a live webinar. I love that if they don't attend, they get a reminder. I love that they can watch the recording afterwards.
“eWebinar has fully replicated the traditional webinar experience, with all the best practices before and after.”
eWebinar has fully replicated what a traditional webinar experience would be, with all the best practices before and after.
If someone were to ask you about the difference between a video on YouTube versus the same video being used in eWebinar, how would you explain it to them?
We’re all used to watching videos, and it’s always been something you can watch later or you don’t have to pay close attention to.
“When a video is dropped into eWebinar, it becomes an interactive conversation where the viewer is able to ask questions.”
But when that video is dropped into eWebinar, it all of a sudden becomes an interactive conversation where the viewer is able to ask questions. And we’re able to ask them questions too. And although someone looking very closely might say, “Wait a second, this is all prerecorded,” most people either don’t know or don’t care. So that just enables a really interactive experience that I love
Who would you recommend eWebinar to?
I would recommend eWebinar to anyone who has a product or service that requires a little bit more explanation, whether it’s from a sales perspective, or marketing, or even from an onboarding perspective.
“eWebinar is great for anyone who needs a higher-touch sales and onboarding process.”
It’s great to be able to give them an experience that really provides the feeling that you’re running an actual onboarding for them, versus just sending them a bunch of videos. So I think eWebinar is great for anyone who needs a higher-touch sales and onboarding process.
